Halley and Sarah are (finally) Getting Married!

The Story of Us

 

 

In the fall of 2006, Sarah was studying in London while Halley was an RA on Hughes 2 at American University. One of Halley's residents was talking to her about his good friend studying in London, and how cool she was, and how she was selected to be an RA for the spring semester--how awesome?!

 

Upon finally meeting each other at a training in January 2007, Sarah and Halley bonded instantly over sarcasm and social awkwardness. The two were pretty close until summer when they spent time in different parts of the east coast and became even closer in the fall when Sarah returned to campus.

 

Friendship became something more sometime between watching episodes of Heroes, taking mini excursions to Maryland with Sarah's fancy ZipCar membership, trips to the ever-fabulous TDR, and, uh, studying. With the traditional first exchange of "I love you," "F*ck you," it was clear that they were destined to be together.

 

After graduation, the pair lived in a row house in DC for just shy of a year before making the switch to a great apartment in Woodley Park. Tired of the city, in September 2010 Halley and Sarah did something incredibly stupid: they quit their safe, secure, sensible jobs. They spent the next two and a half months traveling in Lady (a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE) to visit the 48 continental states, a dream both had had for forever.

 

Now settled in South Hadley, Massachusetts with a home they actually own and their fat cat Han, Sarah and Halley could not be happier.

They could be happier. Which is why they are now getting married. They hope you'll be there to celebrate with them.
